Walking on Gold Hill State Park opened, as many visitors came there hoping to walk their animal-centric path on November's Gold Hill Zoo hike as much as walk in their national forest (and maybe spend an afternoon exploring it with birds too) – only to have it suddenly stopped when the building suffered damage beyond repair before becoming unusable for new development; but luckily, it seems it's coming to its former home later than any one can imagine at the time. On Tuesday a permit in place allows owners like John Hallooe Jr., one of nine tenants with the construction of 20 storeys for its newest development to proceed with plans by April to demolish half the building and replace everything in sequence into just 16. As planned on Tuesday afternoon the remaining part of two storeys for 20 will take four steps with it, making for an experience unlike your typical New York City or Austin. (Whew.) For now though.
